Do you buy the same brand of shampoo and conditioner every single time? I’m sure there are ladies somewhere who do just that, but I’m not one of them. The words “sale” and “bonus airmiles” seem to have a direct line to my wallet. In other words, if it’s cheap, or comes with a ton of reward points, it’s going in my basket and coming home with me!
Which, of course, means that I very rarely use the same shampoo and conditioner twice, and am constantly on the hunt for ones that will work miracles (less frizz, nice smell, and soft hair) on my naturally curly hair. But, thanks to Pantene, my search may finally be over.
In March, I was one of the lucky members of BzzAgent chosen to receive a full-size bottle of shampoo and conditioner from the Pantene Expert line of haircare products.
The Pantene Expert Collection
The new and improved Pantene Expert collection claims to have the most concentrated Pro-V formula ever, and you have five options to choose from: Intense Hydration, Age Defy, Intense Colorcare, Intense Repair and Intense Smooth. Which are supposed to give you intense and instant results, such as: immediate moisture, youthful vitality, enhanced colour vibrancy, rejuvenated hair or tamed frizz.
The Expert Collection isn’t kidding with their name — there’s actually a Pantene Hair Research Institute. Top doctors and scientists focus on hair science and how to improve and maintain hair health. (Guess I’m pretty ignorant about drug-store haircare brands. I didn’t know that.)
My Thoughts After Testing for One Month
Frizz is a common problem with curly-hair, and since there wasn’t a specific formula for curls, I chose to have BzzAgent send me the Intense Smooth shampoo and conditioner. For close to one month, I’ve been washing my hair every three days with my samples and feel safe in saying that this shampoo and conditioner is a winner.
It hits all three of my “miracles.” Soft hair. Fantastic smell. Tames the frizzies.
The smell was the first thing that hooked me. It’s a sweet-smelling scent. A mash-up of pineapple, coconut and brown sugar, or at least that’s what my nose thinks it smells like!
Next was the thick conditioner. It finger-combed easily through my wet hair and helped me untangle several knots. Plus, It’s always a bonus to have the conditioner in my hair, instead of all over the bathtub, which happens with the runny ones.
In the photo above, I put in no extra oils, serums, sprays…just blow dried my freshly washed hair. All of my knots were gone, frizz was minimal and I had some curl definition. Even though my hair is overdue for a cut, it looked pretty damn good.
Overall, I’m pretty pleased with the end result and will consider buying this duo after my samples are used up. Compared to salon brands, it’s very budget-friendly because you can pick it up at Walmart for about $7 per bottle. So I say give the Pantene Expert line a shot on your hair and let me know what you think!
Disclosure: I received full-size samples from Pantene through BzzAgent in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed in this review are my own. I am not being compensated.
