Ever since I read this article on how to make a dotting tool, I’ve been dying to try my hand at some nail art. Apparently, there are several great options for a D-I-Y nail dotting tool. The best part? They’re all FREE! You can make a dotting tool out of things already lying around your house — like toothpicks, bobby pins, paint brushes or sewing pins.

I used Jamberry Pro Nail Lacquer in Frosting, Midas and Dusk to create my daisies and polka dots manicure.
Yesterday, I finally had an hour of free-time available to create my first dotted manicure. The everyday items that I had handy were bobby pins. So, I grabbed one from my hair do-dad stash, straightened it out and got to work on my nails. I actually had a lot of fun, and for a first attempt at a dotted mani, I think my daisies and polka dots look pretty darn cute!
Like the saying goes, “practice makes perfect.” I’m sure my technique will improve after a few more tries. Have you ever worn a dotted mani? What type of dotting tool did you use, professional or home-made?
Stay beautiful,
- Alicia ♥
