You may or may not be aware that I’m an Independent Consultant for Jamberry Nails. The company is becoming a household name in the U.S. and it crossed the border into Canada about seven months ago. I loved the idea of peel, heat and stick nail art so much that I signed up to sell their nail wraps (stickers) before I had even tried the product myself! Thankfully, it was a gamble that paid off. I’ve found the nail wraps to be very simple to apply, and I love not having to wait for my nails to dry.
Recently, the company has decided to expand its catalogue to include a line of professional nail lacquer. Being that I’m a nail polish freak, I had to order some for myself. At $17 per bottle, it’s a bit pricey, but not outrageously over-priced (unless you’ve never purchased butter LONDON polish before…then you just might experience some sticker-shock).
What I like about Jamberry‘s lacquer formula is that it’s big 5 free, which means no nasties and I don’t feel like gagging after smelling it for a few minutes. It also dries reasonably fast to a beautiful glossy finish, plus I find that the large cap gives me something more substantial to grip, so my polish is applied more smoothly.
The proper way to apply nail polish is in several light coats (usually about two). However, the formula of Jamberry‘s lacquer is on the thin side and goes on a teensy bit streaky, so it took three light coats for my manicure to be opaque. To finish off my pretty pastel nails, I decided to add some sparkle with the Jamberry Glitter Effect top coat.
What do you think of pastel coloured nails? Love it or leave it? Let me know in the comment section below.
